LAYERS REVISITED A PRESENTATION BY JOHN HORNER- 30TH JAN

There appears to be no report this week, so here are a few quotes from members who attended the evening.

Hi John

Thank you for last nights presentation, it made a lot more sense now”

“Hi John,

Raymond and I found it very interesting as well”

“Thank you John it was good of you to follow this up for me.

Your presentation last night was first class and there was something in it for everyone at each level.”

“Thanks John - I appreciate your time and consideration.”

“AN EVENING WITH THE MASTERS “- 13TH FEB

With the aid of videos by top professional landscape photographer David Noton members spent the evening learning how to recognise good photographic locations and photographic light. They were skilfully guided on how to quickly react to changing light, wind blown wild flowers and using the best camera settings for good results. Subjects ranged from landscapes in Wiltshire, a professional shoot at the SS Gt. Britain in Bristol and ended with a spectacular firework display in Carcassonne, France.

Vice Chairman John Horner took the meeting as, on a sad note, Chairman Christine Whitehead has stepped down at short notice due to ill health. We wish her a speedy recovery.

On a more positive note our youngest member, Saskia Slavin, has had her work selected at a Royal Photographic Society Advisory Day at the National Media Museum in Bradford to go for RPS Licentiate assessment at the UK's biggest photographic event Focus on Imaging at the NEC in March. If Saskia is successful she will be one of the youngest persons to achieve this Royal Photographic Society distinction. We wish her every success.
